Special Meeting Notice:

The current by-laws of our HOA state that the Board of Directors will consist of seven (7) members.  The current board consists of five (5) members and it has been determined that we do in fact need to hold an election to fill the two (2) vacancies.

The by-laws also state that we must meet a quorum in order for this vote to count.  That quorum would be 60% of the lot owners, or 75 votes.  If we don't reach the quorum, we will need to have a follow-up election 30 days later.  If we can prevent the follow-up meeting, it will save much time and money. Please take the time to vote.

A meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 11, 2010, at 7:00 p. m. at the New Bern Yacht Club.  The sole purpose of this meeting is to hold the election.  No other business will take place at the meeting.  If you cannot attend the meeting, please mail the ballot which you recieved in the mail to Management Services, P. O. Box 12553, New Bern, NC 28561, fax your ballot to 252-637-3911, or put it in a sealed envelope and drop it off to Mary Ellen Crisp, 105 Pebblebrook Drive.  If you plan to attend the meeting, please bring your ballot with you.

Second Election Meeting Notice:

The second Election Meeting of Hunters Ridge of New Bern Homeowners Association will be held January 14, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the New Bern Yacht Club, 1206 Brices Creek Road. The sole purpose of this meeting will be to reach a quorum as required by the Community Documents to officially vote in new members to serve on the Board of Directors. 

The previous proxy/ballot will not be used to accumulate votes.  So if you previously voted, please know you will need to do so again. 

There will be 2 positions opening for The Board of Directors.  The following people are running for The Board of Directors.

George Eggers

Fred Kruske

Russ Whitaker

If you are unable to attend the meeting, please arrange for a proxy to be present by completing the PROXY BALLOT sent to you by the management company.  You need to submit your PROXY BALLOT to Management Services via fax or mail, or you can have someone bring your PROXY BALLOT to the meeting.  Faxed and mailed copies are to be received no later than January 13th at 5:00 pm.

NOVEMBER 19, 2009 MEETING:

A meeting of Hunters Ridge of New Bern Homeowners' Association, Inc. was held on November 19, 2009, 7:00 pm, at the New Bern Yacht Club on Brice's Creek Road.  The purpose of this meeting was to elect two (2) board members for the 2010/2012 term.  Unfortunately due to the fact that there were not enough residents present or persons voting in absentia at this meeting to constitute a quorum, a second meeting has to be scheduled for January. Minutes for this meeting can be found under HOA Meeting Minutes.

2009 Candidates for HOA Board of Directors

The Board of Directors currently has 7 members that serve two year terms, and the voting is staggered so that not all Directors are replaced at one time. The Officer positions of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer will be selected by the Board and must all be Board members.

Board members remaining in position

• Ed Pittman is a Board member that will maintain his position for another year.
• Gayle Basnight is a board member that will maintain her position for another year.
• Jim Davis is a board member that will maintain his position for another year.

Board members leaving their position

• Leo Minervini, term has ended
• Janet Johnson, left for work and family reasons
• Marilyn Philippart, left for work and family reasons
• Tim Daly, left as he longer lives in Hunters Ridge
• Dick Cranston, served Marilyn Philippart’s term that ended Dec 31st, 2008

The following Candidates have volunteered to fill the vacant positions and serve as Board Members for 2009/2010

• Avis Nash: Served as Treasurer for the Board since Dec 06.
• Mary Ellen Crisp: Served as Secretary for the Board since Dec 2006.
• Dick Cranston: Dick was appointed by the Board to fill M. Phillipparts position.
• John Griffin has not served on the board but has volunteered to do so.
• Rod Edwards has not served on the board but has volunteered to do so.
• Al Solter has not served on the board but has volunteered to do so.

At the Annual Meeting Jan 22nd, 2009 voting will take place to elect new Board Members, and candidates can be offered from the floor. Ballots will be available and one vote per lot is permitted.
